This has been such a special Christmas for us. William seems to really enjoy spending time with our families and celebrating this year! We travelled to Louisiana last week to visit Eric's family and then stopped in Mobile for a quick visit on our way home. I had to work Christmas Eve, so this was our first year celebrating Christmas at our home. We have certainly missed being with our families today, but it is very special to be at home and to start our own Christmas traditions.
Last year, a sweet friend at work shared some of her own traditions with me. My favorite was giving 3 gifts to each child, as the wise men gave to Jesus. Through adopting this tradition, we learned more about the gifts of the wise men. They brought Jesus gifts that were of great value and had significant meaning. Gold represented Jesus' royalty. Frankincense stood for Jesus as the high priest. Myrrh, which is used for burials, was symbolic of Christ's death on the cross. We are so thankful that God gave us his greatest gift...His son and our Savior. We know that Jesus is the most precious gift William could ever receive, and we pray for that special day! We hope you are having a safe and merry Christmas!
Love,
The Plaisances
